Saint Gobain organises National Safety Day

The 54th National Safety Day was celebrated at Saint Gobain India Private Limited at Sriperumbudur near Chennai on Tuesday. Minister for Labour Welfare and Skill Development C.V. Ganesan presided over the function during which he insisted that workers should safeguard themselves from potential hazards. Since systematic planning is the key to avoid unforeseen dangers at the workplace, the Minister stressed on due importance to safeguard the lives of the workers.

Mr. Ganesan also said safety is a collective responsibility of both the factory management and workers in order to achieve zero accidents. S. Ananth, Director of Industrial Safety and Health, N.S.Venkat Murugan, national head – Operations and DTI India head, Saint Gobain India Private Limited, and other officials were present. A handbook on ‘Occupational Heat Hazard’ was released during the event.
